Hi, I'm looking for some advices...I'm an owner at Westgate Williamsburg VA (I know I know...Westgate UGH) paid in full - Efficiency/1 Bd lock-off even years. I actually haven't had any issues with them in the 13 years. This property was an impulse buy as a new timeshare user back then. Anyhow, I only used this home property twice and use it to exchange mostly. I'm looking for a home base property on the beach that I will definitely use without the hassles of exchanging and exchange companies. Thinking of upgrading to the beach property through Westgate for ease of transitioning versus trying to sell and still have owners privileges (not sure if there is a benefit between owners/not owners). I was thinking Westgate Cocoa Beach and Westgate Myrtle Beach SC, Westgate is offering $7500 for 2 bds even years for Cocoa Beach and $9000 for efficiency/1 Bd lock-off even years for Myrtle Beach.

Are there better options?

Yes. Dump your current Westgate ownership and buy what you want on the resale market. There is absolutely no need to "upgrade" -- that is just buying more at retail prices. It would be better to divorce yourself from Westgate (what you own is most likely worthless) and buy something else. Or not -- maybe renting would be better? Just depends on your use model.
