I want to upgrade my Annual Gold at WMH to an Annual Platinum and use that "purchase" to requalify a Resale (SDO).

Anybody done this? Will developer go for this? Or am I dreaming?

I realize I will have to spend $20,000 to requalify the SDO Resale.

How much will it cost you to upgrade from Gold to Platinum? Will it be more than the 20k you need to requalify your SDO resale?

I remember reading a recent report is that Starwood has stopped allowing upgrade of a unit to retro another one.

No I don't think the upgrade would quite be $20k, so I might also have to buy a biennial.

I signed a contract (posted details a week ago) and am still debating if I should rescind and look for resale. I know I'm paying at least $10-15k more through developer but I like knowing I have StarOptions/StarPoints and 3-star Elite status (though I realize it only giving me extended conversion dates).

(To clarify, I rescinded my first contract from 1 week ago and got a better deal which I just signed yesterday, so I still have a few days to decide.)

Are you still at WMH? I arrived on Sunday and I'm staying for a week.

Haha, small world, I actually just left yesterday with my contracts (that I keep obsessing over). It was awfully quiet there... and cold for the desert!
