"Update" meeting Hilton Hawaii Village

We just attended our "update" meeting which was the lowest possible pressure; we were in and out within 10 minutes.

As background, we own two weeks in the Lagoon Tower, the first purchased from HGVC in 2002 and the second purchased resale in 2013 (6200 points each). The salesperson asked us a few background questions about how we use our points (use our home weeks the majority of the time) and halfheartedly asked us if we would be interested in combining our points for one maintenance fee (no!). At this point he went off to see his "manager", probably listened in as we talked about the art on his walls, then came back and told us we were done!

We collected our $100 which comes in the form of 4 $25 gift certificates that can be used in practically any outlet on property and left.

Would be pleased to answer any questions.

Congrats on a successful in + out. You make it sound almost enticing.
OTOH, I would not be caught dead at one, regardless of inducement.

That leaves more of the occasionally-worth-it offers for the rest of us resale freeloaders!

Cheers.

LOL I don't call that freeloading. I call it payback for overpaying for our first purchase from the developer!

I’m with @Talent312 on this. Just a waste of time to get some freebies. Not worth it to me. I understand why some do, but it’s not for me.

Oh I know. Just looking at it facetiously from the way they might see it. As long as they keep offering the cheap NYC stays, I'm likely to keep taking them. The rest, as others have said, really aren't worth the time to us.

Cheers.

We don't usually do them. This was our first since 2010! We had barely left the check in desk when the marketing gal approached us and she was far higher pressure than the actual sales guy. We caved knowing there was nothing they could do to interest us and felt $100 was in order since corporate had been calling us repeatedly the week before arrival.

I was surprised at how busy the Lagoon tower sales office was. There were at least 40 cubicles all in use. Our sales guy immediately picked up another couple as he shoved us to admin.

It sounds like your salesperson was smart and wanted to get to someone who actually might buy.
