Upcoming Changes to Marriott Rewards?

We just got back from a week at Grand Ocean. I'll be posting more later this weekend but I do have a question for everyone.

When they were asking us whether we wanted to go to the presentation they mentioned that one of the items they would talk about was changes to the Marriott Rewards program in January '09.

I have seen the discussion on the de-linking of financing and getting MR but that is all.

Does anyone know of any other changes coming down?

They were referring to the announced changed in the Marriott rewards program- changes in the number of reward points for reward packages, hotel category changes and elimination of stay-anytime rewards, etc.. If you search you can find the changes in another thread here.

See this thread which was started when the announcement came out regarding changes to the MR program which takes place in January (Marriott spinned it as an enhancement, but most folks view it as a devaluation).
