Unwanted CWA points

I may be acquiring another CWA contract and If I do I will likely have more points than I really need. All of my contracts are resale and have nothing owed on them. What is the best way to get rid of a 77K CWA contract & still be able to use all the others? Will Wyndham take it back through one of their programs? Or should I try to find someone to take it? I really don't want to pay any transfer fees or closing costs.
Thanks

Your best bet is turn in Ovations. You maybe able to give it away but very few will pay the $500 in closing costs and resort transfer fees for only 77,000 points. The maintenance fees are on the high side also.

Has the Ovations Program had a history of accepting resale CWA contracts? And if so I have a few questions I’m hoping to get help on before I call them.
1.Can I keep my member status and keep the other contracts?
2. Can I use the points in the year before turning the contract over?
3. Could I bank the points or transfer them to a future year before turning it over? ( my guess is NOT)

Any insight helps. Thanks

Ovations is the way to go if:
1. You can add contracts to your ownership in the future. That means direct & resell purchases.
2. Since you’re going to continue to be an owner you need to get the questions answered by Ovations via the contract you’ll sign. The answers are not the same as if you were completely exiting your ownership.
3. As far as your current status if you’re turning in a direct purchase it could change your VIP level if the points are enough to drop you below your current VIP level

Any unused vacations or points for that contract will be forfeited once you turn your deed back to Wyndham.

It won't hurt at all just to call and ask any questions before you decide to accept their offer.

Call to find out if your ownership qualifies Contact an Ovation by Wyndham representative at 866-294-4194.
You can give back one or all deeds. Membership status can change if you give back to many points lowering you VIP status
I have been told Wyndham can prevent you from purchasing developer points when using Ovations but many on TUG have used Ovations and bought resale without a problem.
Yes any future trips would be canceled when using Ovations or selling private sale. Current use year points points can be deposited to RCI. Ovations letter from 3/2019 attached below. Note all Future use year points have to be available or rental option $(12/1000) is available. I called Ovations today and rep said you can use current years points but any reservations that were not completed will be canceled.
This email is to recap that you are voluntarily agreeing to participate in the Ovation by Wyndham program and understand and agree to the following requirements as we discussed today.

Maintenance Fee: Must be and stay current until process is complete. Any paid fees are not refundable.

Documentation to return inventory: You understand that you will receive by email/mail documentation to return your inventory within 8-10 weeks. These documents must be signed, notarized, and returned within the number of days indicated on the documentation. Please keep in mind the sooner the documentation is returned the earlier the process may be completed. Once the document is received, it may take within 6-8 weeks for documents to be approved and the cancellation to be completed.

Third Party Company Assistance: You understand that retaining counsel or third party company to assist with the Ovation program may disqualify your application.

Title Issues: Discrepancies with owner recorded transfer deeds, issues with chain of title, missing documentation needed to record with deed to return inventory, proof of name changes, estate matters etc. and other changes that were not received by Wyndham Title department, may delay the process until proper documentation is received.

Ownership: You must own contract for at least 12 months

Third Party Financial Institution: Any portion of loan paid using a credit card or any other financial institution (PayPal, bank loan, mortgage equity or other) is of sole responsibility of owner accepting an Ovation option.

Reservations: All reservations will be canceled and points forfeited. You will be able to keep any secured reservation paid with Resort Condominium International (RCI).

New Travel reservations during Ovation process: In the event that you book a reservation during this process your request to return your inventory may be cancelled. In case you use your points/credits with Wyndham Destinations or one of its business partners (Travel, RCI, and others) during the process, your cancelation may be interrupted and you will have to wait until the next use year to participate in the Ovation program, once all points are available.

Point’s/Credit usage: Future year’s points/credits must be unused or reservation must be canceled or point rental option is also available.

Multiple contracts: One acknowledgement per contract is required and must be returned.

Ovation by Wyndham offer: Program and inventory acceptance may change without notice. Any changes in the program, will not impact a case that is in process.

When did transfer cost go to 500. CWA doesn't require a closing or a recording but only a signed document and a transfer fee to Wyndham last time I checked. Has this cost gone up from $250?

LT Transfers charges a base fee of $200 add $50 for holding funds in escrow plus Wyndham charges a $299 resort transfer fee.

If you can afford the extra costs maybe just keep it for now and push some extra points forward? I think most people travel more as they get older, this way you will have a surplus in a couple of years and already have the contract
