Universal Vacation Club into DVC?

I am just wondering if anyone here has been able to trade into DVC with UVC particularly Villa Del Mar?

My brother owns here and has owned it for many years! He said something about his TS being able to be traded into RCI and I know that is the trade out company for DVC. Does anyone know if this is possible? I believe he owns a deluxe studio. He never uses his timeshare, so I told him if he could get me DVC I would pay his dues.

In theory, yes you can trade Villa del Mar for DVC. But it depends on what week he owns and how many TPUs (trading power units) you can get. Also depends on how many TPUs you need for the DVC week. You may need to combine 2 VDM for one DVC but it could be done.

It depends upon what he can deposit

If he owns a Holiday week and can deposit Christmas he can get up to 36 tpu. If he owns a prime winter week they seem to average around 16 tpu. A summer week deposited a year out gets 22 tpu. Most Disney weeks are running 45-60. It would take 4 years for a winter, 2 for a summer and 1.5 of a Christmas week to get a studio at Disney.
