I had a great experience with British Airways today. We had tickets for an Aug. 31 flight from Las Vegas to Zurich and a return flight Sept. 19 from Venice, Italy, to Las Vegas. (This trip was planned many months ago before we had ever heard of the Corona virus!) The return flight was booked with BA but it was on American Airlines with a change of planes in Philadelphia.

We got an email from BA that the segment from Venice to Philadelphia had been canceled. I called BA to ask for a refund on that segment that was canceled and also to cancel the flight from Philadelphia to Las Vegas & be refunded. They said they could do that and when I asked to cancel and refund the whole trip, they agreed to do that, too! We were delighted because we thought we'd get only a voucher for a future trip and not a complete refund.

I was afraid the DOT's ruling applied to only US airlines, but apparently it appies to foreign carriers that do business in the US, too.
Was your flight booked through AA or through BA?

We have flights for the end of August also, from Florida to London and back. No changes yet, and we are worried with them being direct flights, that they may not change or cancel them. We booked through AA but the flights are on BA.

We booked the whole trip through BA.

Additional info from United.

I was looking for info because I purchased a subscription this year. But this covers extensions of status etc.

We got our full refund back to our credit card today from British Airways, and I just contacted them Monday. Very pleased!

Congrats on your refund. As has been said, 1 bird in the hand = 2 in the bush.

Fortunately, I've already found a use for one of my Delta credits...
I booked a stay in Park City, UT, for late December.

Hawaiian Airlines has the most restrictive policies in handling reservation changes. The fee waiver only covers changes for tickets up to May 31,2020 whereas other airlines cover up to December 31,2020. They charge a $200 change fee per ticket. They also do not honor the fare you see on their website. The website showed a fare of $643 for JFK to HNL roundtrip but to change our ticket, they are charging a fare of $899 and since we had paid less for our tickets, we have to make up the difference. This is unethical. Where is the aloha ?

I was deleting old emails and had this on my "new" mail. Never updated.

We got full refund for our First Class United tickets to Anchorage (the flight was cancelled).

We also got a full refund from United for the price difference we paid on our own to upgrade to more leg room.

We also received a full refund on the insurance we took out for the trip (not with Princess).

The cruise line Princess had refunded us also for the deposit and airfare coming home.
