I thought all treatment related to Covid is free. I just scanned the article. Maybe only testing is free. But she will have other expenses to worry about, and should let this one slide. Our local health care system is waiving all out-of-pocket costs, so maybe community pressure will cause this hospital to change its tune.

Yep, this would be. Sure, just throw those charges on the heap of medical debt I already have.

Maybe this is what people can do with the govt checks they don't need - send it to your struggling hospitals. Better yet, find the supplies they need online and send a box.

Hospitals will be decimated. Donor class might need to prop them up.

Nope. POTUS misspoke. Peeps have been complaining to their Congressmen, Congresswomen, and Senators that POTUS said on live TV that insurance covered COVID treatment, only to be told POTUS misspoke.

Then our area is lucky. Hospital system has definitely said it will not charge for out of pocket, so uninsured should not fear getting tested and treated.

Again, this is why we need to extract the leech of insurance companies from the health care process.
Insurance companies add no value to the healthcare process but manage to suck out an excess of money.
