I thought this had been discussed before, but a search didn't find the thread.

I wanted to modify an ongoing search. It was in my RCI Weeks account. It previously listed a short date range and three specific resorts. I wanted to add one resort and extend the date range by changing the first date.

I've tried and tried and can't get it to accept the change to the ongoing search. The system performs the search, then has options at the bottom to continue, reset search criteria, or return to vacation plans. Clicking reset search criteria does not save the changes I made. I tried it three times.

In the past, I thought it ask if you wanted to keep the new search or continue with the original. Am I being a computer dummy today? I can't figure out how to do this.

I also tried to edit a second search I have going just to see if it would work. Again in my RCI Weeks account, I have a search for two areas for one specific set of dates. Just like the other one, it would let me make a change and do a search, but I could find no way to save the new search parameters.

Sheila,

If any of your search dates were within 30 days, you would not be able to modify the search. You would be able to confirm or release held units and directly search; however, you wouldn't be able to change the search parameters.

That makes no sense.
I had the same problem with a search that was initiated for the weekend of June 22nd and ran through August 30th.
I was not able to alter the search at all, and had to finally cancel it.
BTW, with the above search the site kept holding resorts with a start date of 9/1. Go figure.

Thanks, Madge.

I didn't recall that little wrinkle. That was it exactly.

I had spotted a week and got an error when I tried to book and hold in online. I called in immediately, and the week was gone. I was hoping it had gone into limbo temporarily when I got the error and that was why the VC couldn't see it. I tried to modify an existing ongoing search to grab it if it showed back up, but wasn't able to do that either.

As the song goes, "some days you're the windshield ......".
