We went to Banff last month. Just loved it. We read somewhere (cant remember if it was in a book or what) that the movie "The River of No Return" with Robert Mitchum and Marilyn Monroe was filmed on the Bow River. So I found the movie and we watched it. We mainly recognized the falls and noticed the color of the river. That icy blue color is definitely Canada.

I know that Kauai has been the setting for many movies and I think alot of western movies were filmed around Monument Valley. I dont know what the names of those movies are.

It was fun to watch that movie. I dont know if I would liked being picked up and swung over a mans back and carried off into the sunset. :D If he was as attractive as RM, maybe.

I would like to watch other movies that have exceptional scenery of places that I or others might recognize.

What other movies would you suggest?

The Last of the Mohicans has gorgeous scenery. It's supposed to take place in upstate New York but if I recall from the credits, it was mostly filmed in the mountains of North Carolina.

I loved "Against all odds". Filmed in Cozumel I think...
