In the mid 70's I worked for RCA Records in Toronto and was able to buy a copy of Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes that was re-released on a blue vinyl record. It might have been for some sort of anniversary of the recording, I don't remember. All of us in the office who purchased it were told not to ever open it that someday it would be worth a fortune. So I bought 2, one to keep and one to listen to! It wasn't too long afterwards that Elvis died and when the news broke the office closed and were sent home for the rest of the day. One of these days I should investigate to find out how rich that record will make me. :D

I have a large vinyl collection...many originals from many famous artists in the 1960s and 1970s, in particular. I always took good care of my records, so I know some of them have appreciated well over the years. However, I have no interest in selling them. I still enjoy putting them on my turntable and playing them from time to time.

An interesting aside from a few years ago, when one of my nieces who was a teenager at the time, was visiting for Christmas or Easter at our home. The adults got into a discussion about a particular song. I happened to have that album, so went to get it to check the information on the jacket. My niece asked me what it was, since she had never seen a vinyl record. I explained it was sort of like a CD from when we were her age. I then went and put the album on the turntable so she could see how it worked. She was fascinated and I suddenly felt much older. :ponder:

How many albums do you have? Would you sell them?
