First, I just want to say "Thank you". (I'm sure you never get tired of hearing that). This past weekend I went to Las Vegas on the strip for the free weekend. I really didn't have any plans to buy, though I had been looking at Disney Timeshares. Well, of course, it all sounded too good & I bought.
The price was $12,000+ for 3,400 points every other year ($18,000 + for every year). Originally, the salesperson said they also had 2 "resales" at the Flamingo that she could sell me for $9,000+ (same thing 3400 EOY). I agreed to that one & they went and ran all the paperwork & after FOREVER came came back and stated that it had just been sold and they now only have the one at the strip and it was the best price over any other resort they were currently selling. After thinking about it more, I wonder if they ever really had this cheaper one or if that was just a ploy to get me on the hook.
Anyways, I ended up buying the 3,400 EOY at the Strip for 12,000+ because they threw in 12,000 bonus points (an unheard of amount per the rep. & quality assurance manager).
I get home Sunday night & google HGVC timeshares, and what do you know, TUG shows up. I quickly realized that I had way overpaid and my "bonus" points weren't that extraordinary & can't even be booked for normal HGVC reservations.
I immediately rescinded and e-mailed Seth, per everyones advice. Now I am getting 5,000 points at roughly half the price.
I'm waiting for my rescind to go through and hopefully won't have any problems. I followed the contract to the letter, and sent my letter certified and faxed a copy within the 5 day Las Vegas rescind period and 10 day Tennessee purchasers period. Has anyone had any trouble trying to rescind during the period & Hilton being difficult?
That is what I am most nervous about, that I didn't follow exactly or didn't mail to the correct address, etc..
Anyways, thanks again
