As a diversion, how about a thread that is TUGgers sharing their pictures of bridges - anywhere in the world. Post the picture and the location.

Only two rules:

1. It has to be taken by a TUGger or a TUG family member.
2. It can't be a bridge in someone's mouth. Those would belong in a different thread.

Lift bridge, Dululth, MN. Lower part of bridge that you see is a roadway. When an ore ship needs to go through, it raises to the upper level.

Bridge to Prince Edward's Island (eight miles long)

Different kind of bridge. Alberta Canada. Bridge over trans Canadian highway. Purely to allow animals to cross the highway safely.

Bridge on the Wonderland Trail over the White River in Mt Rainier National Park. The bridges are taken out for the winter and put back by hand (and pulley) each spring which is usually mid June. On a warm day, the snowmelt off the glacier raises the water level to exciting levels i.e. breaking over the top of the log.

I love all of these pictures. A reminder - please identify the bridge and location!!.

Bixby in Big Sur is such a beautiful bridge. Here a couple of shots from the north side. I got a nasty case of poison oak climbing up a hill next to the highway to get the shot that has the lupins in bloom.

You knew I couldn't pass on this. I.B. Perrine Bridge, U.S. 93, 486 feet above the Snake River, Twin Falls, Idaho:
1589850405258.png

It's the highest bridge in the world (I think) that is legal to BASE jump from every day of the year. There are higher bridges, but they only open to jumpers on occasions. It's a rare day when jumpers from all over the world are not here. There is a visitor's center at the S. end of the bridge where they repack their parachutes. There are two golf courses along the river below the bridge.
