TUGBBS under attack again

was half hoping that since we installed that mod so long ago, that xenforo would have made its features a default option by now...but clearly thats not the case.

it seems to still be supported in 2.3 so assuming if i re-enable it after the upgrade without any errors i dont mind keeping it. it doesnt appear its been updated for quite some time (the add on) as we are still on the most recent version of it.
 
Brian, one piece of data I don't recall seeing. When I open forums in Tabs (Safari) from my menu bar which opens several tabs at one time, I usually get this issue but not on the first tab which is the one visible. Generally I can open the affected forums later by refreshing, usually takes a few minutes. If I move them to individual windows, I can usually avoid the Forbidden issue. I'll pay attention to whether this method completely avoids the issue going forward.

I was subsequently able to connect, but this is obviously still an issue. This occurred just a few minutes ago.

Those are companies who say they can get an owner out of their timeshare ownership even if they still have an outstanding purchase loan. They are all scams, even the ones claiming to be law firms. They charge thousands to do the same thing as the owner can do themself for free -if they even do anything.

going to apply an upgrade patch to the server here in a few minutes, im not terribly sure itll make any difference on this issue but it has to be done before i can upgrade to the next major version of xenforo so its on the "todo" list.
 
well that took all of 60 seconds....got kinda scared as right off the bat I got the "forbidden" message when i clicked to upgrade lol

the next upgrade is a major revision to xenforo and will be much more intensive a process. ill schedule that for another time.

though i do hope that this may mitigate the error until then!

The upgraded patch work on my desktop using DuckDuck.com this morning. Thank you TUGBRIAN.
 
I even tried to replicate it using a link that almost always triggers it for me and didnt get the error, id be thrilled if this actually fixes it!

I’m still getting the occasional “forbidden” pop up, but the second try now seems to always work. Before it would fail repeatedly until I switched to another thread and came back later.

my experience as well, using Firefox on a Dell Inspiron laptop.

Same here - not gone but better today at least - when using Tapatalk.
