Tug Holiday Traveling?

If not too busy with Merryment and cheer, would like to know where TUG members are spending Christmas and New Years Holiday?
I will go first
We had a nice but early Christmas with family at DD and SIL house, then tomorrow we leave for Lehigh Acres.Traveling by car, never been there before will review upon return.

Since wifey is a teacher, this is the only week we can normally get away in the winter, if you can even call it winter now in the north east...

Anyway, leaving tomorrow morning for St. Maarten.

We are here at home in Milwaukee with my DH's mom in town. We'll all leave Sunday for St Louis for a few days, then get MIL home in Indiana . . . and we'll be back in Milwaukee on Saturday after New Years.

We're back home now, but just barely. We've been cruising, from Ft. Lauderdale through the Panama Canal and down the W. coast of S. America to Valparaiso Chile. Time to 'do' the holidays with friends and family and do laundry at home before re-launching to Mexico. The dog will be thinking he's been adopted out.

We're holding off until mid-January. Then a week at Worldmark in Reunion FL. Then a week with family in Boynton Beach. Then a week at Harbour Club on HHI. Then we hurry home so DH can finish prepping for his Appalachian Trail hike. He's excited. I'm the sender of the care packages.

Heading to Vancouver, BC to get younger dd settled into an apartment so she can start her Master's program at UBC. We'll be celebrating New Year's there.

We are headed to our home resort (Cold Spring in Ashland, NH) tomorrow, so will be there for New Year's Day. We've never traveled this week before...trying a new tradition, now that our children are a little older. (10, twins who are 12, and 18). They are hoping to ski!

We are at Boyne Mountain, Michigan - Bluegreen Mountain Run @ Boyne. There are four trails open, nice to see snow on the Mountain! We are going to Avalanche Bay waterpark tomorrow. Hope everyone had a chance to see the Christmas Moon tonight - wow what a treat!

We had hoped to be in St Augustine tonight... But it will be late since we had to change our plans a little. We were in Dunedin FL in a timeshare last week and had to move on Christmas Day. We had a day between checkout and checking in so planned to spend Christmas Day driving across the FL penisula. We got an airbnb night on the east coast for Christmas night.


Ron's step-uncle died last week and the funeral
Is today, in Ft Myers, 3 hours south from where we stayed this week. So we drove on down south on Christmas Day in order to be there today, to represent Ron's mother's side of the family .

Ate Christmas dinner at Denneys along the way.

We are staying is an excellent Extend a Stay now, will check out and reload to go to the funeral at. 11 am

What is sad is that Ron's aunt was "too busy, too tired " to see him yesterday. If you follow our BLOG at all you know that family is everything to him and he had called and had planned to see her.

Heading out in a few hours to catch a bus to NYC for a 2 night stay. (Not a TS, found a great rate at the Tryp Times Square South.) Looking forward to seeing the holiday decorations, and taking in a few shows, including: "The Color Purple" & "Fun Home". Will be solo on this trip, as my sister in law cancelled & daughter doesn't want to come along. Fine w/ me, as I will enjoy the much needed "Me time". Only thing that's a bit awkward, (for me, at least), is eating out alone....but I have some favorite places I'm planning to return to for meals. A friend who lives on Long Island may take the train to join me for dinner one night.

Stayed home for Christmas but flying to Virginia on Monday. Looks like we'll miss the first snow of the year in VT on Tuesday. Normally we love snow, but since it may be ice it's just as well we'll be away.

After spending 3 weeks at our Florida mobile home, we came come to Canada for Christmas. We will head back down south around the 4th or 5th of January to spend 3 months. Life is good!

At Welk Resort in San Diego/Escondido through 1/1. Was excited to have 2 BR and then used eplus to change to different area (wanted the VOG)... Misread the date and was unable to eplus to correct dates to a 2br... Now in 2 of the smaller 1 BR. Tried to get upgrade for one unit to larger 1 BR and no luck. Oh well. Cold here! Looking forward to warmth in February at Grand Luxxe NV!

We usually stay in Vegas for the holidays. Family usually comes to visit us instead of us going to visit them.

We are in Orlando at Saratoga Springs, after being at Marriott Cypress Harbour last week. Headed home Wed. but the kids are off for another week. Thank goodness for grandparents!

Just got back from 4 nights at Smugglers Notch. Despite no snow and having to change our plans to different activities because of it, it turned out beautifully and the resort also had a lovely nondenominational service and fireworks on XMAS eve.

Banff

We had Christmas at home with our family and made the 5 hour drive to Banff today. Just relaxing by the fire, having my coffee and getting ready to get the last of the Prime Rib Christmas roast ready, planning for an easy supper on a driving day. I had to choose between the last of the roast or some amazing vegetable soup in a swiss cheese sauce base. Husband got to pick and the beef came with us...the soup is waiting in the freezer for our drive home next week.

Banff is our home resort and we try to make the trip at least 3 times a year. But New Years is our favorite time...the mountains are so beautiful and although it is busy in town it is not so crazy as in the summer (;

Just back from a week at the Bay Club at Waikoloa, (our first trip to the Big Island) followed by 3 nights at the Wyndham Canterbury in San Francisco. Loved them both!

We spent a week exploring Florida's panhandle in Wyndham's Panama City Beach Resort, followed by a week on Hilton Head in the Crown Suite in Marriott's Monarch Resort. We enjoyed both lovely properties with unbelievably warm December weather!

We have never gone away for Christmas but now that 2 out of 3 kids are off on their own its a definite possibility in the future. This year DS #2 & wife were up for Christmas eve dinner. Christmas morning we drove 30 mins north to pick-up DGS at his other grandmas then drove 2hrs south to his dad's (DS#1) house for Christmas dinner with them & a sleep-over. Boxing Day we all drove 45 mins north to MiL's for DH's side of the family Christmas (a tradition for 40 yrs).

Yesterday & today were spent exchanging gifts that didnt fit, taking down decorations, winterizing & putting cars into storage and getting last minute items (3 mos of prescription drugs ) for our trip to Belize for the winter.

We are on a plane at 9am Wed & will arrive in Corozal Belize Thurs. Then my sister arrives on the 3rd for 2 weeks & the day after she leaves friends fly down for 2 weeks! Now DD is thinking of flying down after they leave for a week or more. Whew! Maybe I'll get to relax in Feb.!

Spouse is a Refund Cashier at Costco. So you know where we're spending the days before and especially right after Christmas. No vacation time for us, from the day after Thanksgiving until after New Year's Day.

But we did spend Christmas Eve with my sister and her family, enjoying the classic family fare. Then Christmas Day we went to dinner at my daughter's MIL's house. It was quiet and filled with love. A perfect holiday.
