I own 2 two Bedroom every year WKORV OV units bought resale post merger and which therefore are not Abound qualified (enrolled)
I own 1 even year WKORV OV unit bought pre merger which is Abound qualified (enrolled)
I also own a 2 Bedroom Hyatt Kaanapali and a 2 Bedroom MAO. The MAO unit was bought resale and is not enrolled in Abound
The account has Executive status with Marriott

I have been shooting to go to Maui EOY with my wife and 4 of my children and their families
My wife says she does not think her back will take the Chicago to Hawaii flight after our scheduled 2027 trip so she thinks 2027 will be our last trip
If we don't go I think the Kids will only go sporadically

I do not like to rent out my units but I have done so successfully and can do so in the future

Wondering if I should explore requalifying my 2 WKORV every year units so I have the option of electing Abound points for them
I believe to requalify 2 weeks I would have to spend $15,000 with the Vistana side of Marriott
I believe (but do not know for sure) that money spent with Marriott would not count unless the spend was for a Vistana product
I also believe (but again do not know for sure) that an Aventuras (sp?) product would count and would probably be the most economical but I know nothing about Aventuras or how to even explore buying them.
I also wonder if I could buy a resale Vistana week direct from Vistana/Marriott and requalify with that purchase

So not sure if I want to requalify these two weeks but if I should decide to do so any suggestions as to the best way to proceed ?

How would you use these weeks via Abound points? Without a plan, I wouldn't spend anything - you already have StarOptions with those weeks.

Probably Marriott Crystal Shores Early January Ocean Front--but not spending anything could still be the best answer.
That said last couple of years I rented Abound points in order to go to Crystal Shores so the Abound points would not go to waste

I only have WKORV and WKORV-N weeks plus an EOY St. John week. I find converting my WKORV weeks to Club Points has resulted in some nice vacations in other parts of the Marriott system. If you think you will continue timesharing, the use of Club Points is nice. I've used them in Marbella, Spain, Steamboat, Colorado, I am currently in Cancun and will go to Hilton Head next. I find sometimes availability even at Vistana properties varies between the two systems and having both gives me more flexibility. Even Maui has some timeframes that are cheaper with CP than the 6200 Club Points you get for your WKORV OF weeks. Also, if you arrive within 60 days of making the reservation, you get a discount on the Cps needed. In Cancun I got about 30% off the Club Points I needed because I made the reservation about a week before I headed here. I also had a ton of Staroptions left, but the CP were a better deal.

I considered trading my St. John week for Aventuras because of the rising maintenance fees in St. John, but I didn't find it was worth about $20K to get it done. I would have almost doubled my CP and had a few more Staroptions for the same maintenance fee, but I just didn't feel like spending right now. I should probably buy more time in Maui resale and requalify it if I do anything at all.

I would probably get a US-based week if I were to do something to requalify. At least those have a prayer of being able to deed back if at some point you want to exit the program. I don't think that would work for Aventuras. I do like Cancun a lot and Los Cabos looks nice.
