The maintenance guys entered our unit at Cabo Villas this morning. They were installing eye bolts and hanging large vinyl window coverings on all the sliders.

My only question is, why are they just installing the eye bolts now? This building has been here a long time.

Are you going to be there for the fun? (Sarcasm, btw). I hope that it doesn't cause as much damage as last time.

Oh, my! I’ve only been paying attention to Ida and the Gulf Coast because my son is in Biloxi. Are you in the bullseye for Nora????

I hope you’ve had a fun time so far, though. How’s the 4BR at Cabo Villas?

Gosh, I'm here in Cabo as well. How did I miss this?
(Maybe because rooms at Clubs Cascadas don't have tv?)

Perhaps ignorance is bliss.

Just landed in San Diego. I’ll post about our experience when I get a chance.

Looks like the storm turned toward Mazatlan. I’ll make this brief since there is a place for actual reviews.

Our 4 bedroom unit was great. Nice and large with incredible views. The balcony off the living room was the same level as Baja Brewing and looked right into it And through it to the ocean. We listened to the bands play from our balcony. The upper deck was great and had a mini fridge and sink and a hot tub. Awesome view and it had some shade. It was too hot to sit up there most of the time.

I managed to score a 3 bedroom penthouse that my friends put their 20 something kids in. They were speechless. It was on the other side of the property on the 7th floor with an unobstructed view of the whole bay. It also had a rooftop deck and hot tub.

There is also a new restaurant called rooftop 360 that has a pool and bar and stunning views of the entire Cabo San Lucas area. We had an amazing week. Betty Ford is cutting off my internet now so I have to go back in confinement!

Had a TERRIBLE experience. Arrived on Wednesday, Sept. 8th. Hurricane arrived next evening. Received no advance warning from anyone at the resort. Went downtown to Los Cabos to shop on Thursday afternoon. Shopkeepers told us to return to resort due to imminent storm arrival. Upon arrival in our unit, we found no phone call checking on us. No one came to our door. During the evening the wind picked up and rain forced under the door. We kept adding towels to stop water from engulfing the unit to no avail. 1 inch of water was in our kitchen almost to the bedroom. Wind howled through the night.(105mph) Lights went out and no electricity for about 8-10 hours. Next morning there were no services. Still no one came to our door to check on us. One restaurant opened in the morning of the 10th with limited items. No pools or other restaurants opened for another two days. One of the sales people refused to comp us for lost time. She was NASTY!!! We will never return to a Vidanta property.

It's a bummer it turned out that way but YOU are responsible for your own safety. It sounds like you didn't even know it was coming. Internet much?

FYI: This is hurricane season from Acapulco to Cabo San Lucas (as well as the Gulf side). September is also the historic earthquake month for México City.

My first NORMAL summer rain experience in my timeshare here in Mazatlán included water pouring under my sixth floor door and into my bedroom. It's typical for the heavy rains, not just hurricanes. No one came to hold my hand either, but then I had my big boy pants on and was enjoying the show mother nature was giving me.
