NEW YORK (AP) — Standard & Poor's said Wednesday that TripAdvisor Inc. will be a component of the S&P 500 Index on Dec. 20.

TripAdvisor is being spun off from travel website operator Expedia Inc., and S&P said the spinoff should be complete around that date. TripAdvisor will replace Tellabs Inc. on the S&P 500. The firm said Tellabs will be placed on the S&P MidCap 400 index because its market capitalization has fallen below $1.5 billion. Tellabs will replace Digital River Inc. on the MidCap index...
