I've been doing a bit of research recently regarding travel insurance. I've looked at what's offered by my credit cards and insurance providers.

Thanks to the Villa Group Facebook group I discovered a benefit of Villa Group ownership that I didn't realize I had. Part of your maintenance fee for the Villa Group, if you are a Gold Member or a Villa Preferred Access member, covers travel insurance provided by On Call International Travel Services. This insurance covers you when you are vacationing at a Villa Group resort.

But, there's a kicker. For an additional $15, paid when you pay your maintenance fee, that travel insurance expands to any time you are traveling more than 100 miles from your home. Plus, the coverage limits are also expanded significantly.

If you're not a Gold or Villa Preferred Access member you can pick up the insurance that's included for Gold/VPA Members for $44.99 when you pay your maintenance fee. The policy covers a full calendar year, not just a given trip. Either way, $15 upgrade or $44.99 it looks to be well worth the money for annual coverage.
