Do you suggest taking a taxi or the Thomas Moore share service available through the Royals to get to and from the airport and the Royal Islander?

Anybody know the cost of taxi fare for two people to and from Airport?

How about to and from WalMart to get bottled water, food, etc.?

Thanks,

BigTom

You cannot pick up a taxi from the airport so it is best to have pre-arrangements made. Last Feb. a taxi ride from RH to the airport was $40. pre- arranged with a driver.

Sorry....You said RI. I was responding for RH. RI will be much less money. But you still can't get a taxi FROM the airport.

I think it may be possible to arrange a taxi from the airport when you arrive; I don't know the cost but I believe it is extremely expensive.

I've always used Thomas More since I often fly in alone and it has always worked very well. Just make sure you have your voucher they email you. There are other companies that are similar that tuggers have used and prefer over Thomas More. There are several threads with more info you can search for.

You really should do pre-arranged transportation from Thomas More or another reputable company. It's the best option.

The taxi rates from the royals are posted out front. I forget the cost to Walmart (maybe 150 pesos or 15 dollars?) someone else will probably confirm. I just take the bus and maybe a taxi back if necessary. Make sure you agree on price before accepting the ride when not taking it from the hotel. But for basics such as bottled water I just buy it in the Royal Market - so much more convenient and not much more expensive than Walmart. I thought the markets were high but I compared to Walmart and some stuff was even cheaper at the Royals. You could also check out the supermarket Chedraui which is not as far as Walmart.

I just sent you an email, but to add to this thread, either entertainment plus (link above, which is the same as USA Transfers and run by Brant Boston) OR Cancun Valet are the two most highly recommended services.
