I hope my 22-year-old grandson is aware of possible issues when he travels on his own, albeit with a guide, over his holiday break from teaching math to 9th graders at a charter school in N.C.!
He plans on visiting Jordan, UAE, Egypt and Syria.
He is an independent world traveler- last Christmas break he traveled to SE Asia and South Korea, venturing as far north as the DMZ. When we got together at Thanksgiving, he flew in from Guatemala since his school had the entire week off.
Besides worrying about his itinerary, I also worry about his health- he's a Type 1 diabetic.
So please say a prayer or send good thoughts Gus' way over the next few weeks, thanks!
