I received a letter from Marriott stating that the transfer of my Frenchman's Cove purchase from the previous owner has been completed. However, when I sign onto my MVCI account it isn't showing up yet.

Can anybody comment on how long it will be before I will see my new acquisition display along side my existing Desert Springs I property on their site?

Since you got the letter and you still did not see it, the best bet is just call owner services. It is probably the easiest way to deal with it and they probably can fix it on the phone. They were able to do it for me for one of my purchases.

When we purchased our second week it was on-line within a week of Marriott receiving the transfer paperwork and appeared days before we received our letter. I would give them a call to get them to fix it.

When and where do you/I get the Customer ID that is required to create a MVC account? Once the Shadow Ridge TS is transferred into my name, do they contact MVC, or do I need to contact MVC? Will I then get the ID from MVC?

The timeframe varies. I've had resorts show up quickly and others take a month. Unless you're wanting to make a trade, I wouldn't worry to much. If it takes longer than a month, then I'd make some calls.

In our experience the letter always came after it showed up online. My latest experience actually occurred today when our Marriott Monarch finally showed up in our online acct. Now that we're discussing the matter I'll report back how long before we get the letter.

I would definitely call owner services.

If this is your first Marriott, then they will assign you one when they set you up....if you already own, then you have one already in your profile. If you did not give it to them when you submitted the transfer paperwork, then they probably gave you a new one and perhaps set up a whole new account, and that may be why you can't see it.

I believe the ID is included in the letter...

Anyway, Call.only Marriott can get you all straight.

Reading the previous post made me think of this. Does the customer number on the letter match the customer number in your my-vacationclub account? It is possible they created a new owner number instead of assigning the new ownership to the existing account.

Call Customer Services if this is not your first Marriott purchase. My second purchase didn't show even after a 2 month period of time. When I called, I was told that my new purchase was registered in the Marriott system a bit differently than my other purchases due to slight differences in the names of the new titleholders (one had our middle names spelled out completely and the other didn't). A bit of additional paperwork from Marriott corrected the situation. However, what I learned is that Marriott won't be able to do too much to combine your properties within their system if the names of the titleholders on your properties are substantialy different.

I sent an email from within the MVCI site and my week is now appearing. Frenchman's Cove, oh boy.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Thanks, this is my first Marriott purchase. I'll wait as suggested, but impatiently, for the letter from MVC and for them to setup my account.

Plenty of useful info in this thread for Marriott newbies like me and for those purchasing additional Marriotts.

thanks again & sorry for hijacking the thread

Funny, I didnt even realize I was answering a different person's question....thought it was just additional info to the OP's situation.

Looks like everyone is straight, so goo outcomes.

When we purchased our first week I was too impatient to wait for the letter.. lol.. I called about a week after when I thought they should have received the documents from the closing company and found out that the closing company forgot to send the transfer payment... called a week after that and we were in the system.. if you are in the system when you call.. you can ask them for your owner's number and set up your on-line account with your owner's number. We got it all sorted on-line and reservations made way before the letter arrived.
