We've recently made a stupid decision and bought (& kept) a 1-br at the Gardenview in Vegas for the 1st week of May. We're still waiting for our RCI Card but it was too late by the time I read the threads re: timeshares... I was wondering if somebody can help me figure out what my trading power is? Thanks.

My $0.02 worth...

With RCI, "trading power" is a secretive "man behind the curtain" process which is not at all transparent. There really is no black and white "formula" for you to attempt to apply. However (....and please don't shoot the messenger...), because of the glut of available timeshares in overbuilt Las Vegas, you probably shouldn't expect much in the way of exchange capability.

Trading Power Is A Complete & Total Puzzle Shrouded In Mystery.

I was wondering if somebody can help me figure out what my trading power is?
Trade power of a straight (i.e., non-points) timeshare week is known only to the backroom Gnomes Of RCI & even then it's a moving target -- OK today, So-So tomorrow, & next week Who Knows ?

All it's safe to count on is that smaller & humbler off-season timeshares in locales overloaded with timeshares trade feebler than larger & fancier timeshares in hard-to-get seasons at high-demand locations with few timeshares.

Click here for a recent TUG-BBS entry that says pretty much the same thing, more or less.
