My husband and I are 20-year owners at Oceantime (Ocean City, MD) and have spacebanked every year except one. We have always spacebanked early (2-years in advance) in order to get good trades and have been quite successful.

But now a representative from our new management group is trying to tell us that the timing of your spacebanking has no effect on trade power. Here is a quote from him (via e-mail) "If RCI is informing you that to Maximize your trading power you need to deposit 2 years in advance they are the ones misleading you. Your trading power is based on: Unit Size, Location, Segment, and Season."

So who is correct? Does spacebanking early have an effect on trading power?

Trading Power is enhanced the farther in advance you deposit your week up to 12 months. Your resort is correct that depositing more than one year in advance will not affect your Trading Power. However, it does give you earlier access to other exchange inventory deposited that far in advance.
