I think there is a post for this somewhere but I can’t find it. I have a week at Waiohai not points. I want to trade it next year. Is II my only option? how do I trade it for another Marriott. I haven’t always had luck with that and the people at II know nothing about it. Thanks for any help

Is your week enrolled in Abound, formerly known as the destinations club?
If so you have the option to elect for club points on an annual basis and use the points to book anything that is available via Abound.
If not then II is the option, as is renting out and the using the $$ to book where you want to go.
You should have good trading power in II and no problem getting another MVC, subject to what you are requesting. If view type matters to you then II isn't a good option, as you can't select that and you get whatever the resort make available after owners and points bookers.

You should reserve a good date for rental purposes and rent Waiohai for an amount above the maintenance fee, then buy a trader that will work better for trading, if you have the desire to go elsewhere.

Check Redweek for listings at Waiohai and see what the going rate is for rentals. Pricing is important because overpricing is always going to be risky.

Where were you hoping to go?

To exchange your week on II
-Reserve your week at you home resort.
-Chose a week in your season with the highest TDI you can get without while still allowing deposit far in advance if your desired stay (12+ is ideal).
You will find the TDI in the II resort directory page for your home resort- read it off the chart by week number reserved.
To find the day you can reserve your desired home week go on the MVC owners site under resources, helpful tools, when can I book.
-Deposit your week into II.
-Place a request. There is an instructional video in the general discussion section of II to show you how.search manually too in case there is a cancellation that goes into inventory before the request filter runs.

MVC priority for in brand exchange gives you an advantage. The key is to request early.

You live out east. Where do you want to travel instead of Kauai?
Waiohai is an expensive trader because all units are 2 bedroom. Unless you want another resort in Hawaii, I'd probably recommend that you rent out your reservation, then use your cash to get whatever you want.
