I have an opportunity to purchase resale a 1 BR Plat. at the Aruba Ocean Club. I think I'm going to get it at a fair price. My question is this. I've tried to look at the TUG site and see what kind of trades it gets, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the maze. Does anyone with one of these units have experience as to what kind of trades it will pull? For instance, will I get any 2BR units for this either thru a Marriott exchange or thru II?
Any help would be appreciated.
Pete

Yes, you can trade for two bedrooms at a Marriott or not. Obviously it depends on where and when you plan on going.

I would think the OC would trade comparable to the Surf Club. If that is the case, unless you are looking for 2 bdrms during the prime season, you should be happy with the trading strength.

I've traded my 1 BDRM for a Grand Ocean end of Sept, which is all 2 bdrms, and also traded my studio for a 2BDRM at the fab Four Seasons Aviara in Dec '04. I happen to be looking last night and saw a Barony beach in mid Oct, with my studio.

I consider that great trading value.

Regards,
Joe

Ocean Club Trade

I traded a 2BR/ locked off efficiency unit from Grand Vista into the Aruba Ocean Club for the week of Feb. 3-10 2006 and traded the 1 bedroom unit into HHI Heritage Club for the week August 18-25th 2006. Two weeks from the time we were to leave for Aruba this past February we got a call from II upgrading our unit to a 2/BR for an additional $85 for the week. As well when we received our confirmation for HHI we also got a 2 bedroom.

Maybe I should edit the question...

and ask where I can find a list of 1 br properties. I know some are all 2 or 3 br. Trying to see what would happen with a 1br from Aruba, usually a good trader. But can I get decent 2 br ones elsewhere?

Go to the Marriott Timeshare FAQS sticky at the top of this forum & look at the maintenance fees topic. This lists the villa types at the resorts.
