TPU question

I am new to RCI so I am not familiar with how the TPUs work. If I have 50 TPU for a deposit and exchange for something that is only 30 TPU do I basically lose 20 TPU on the trade? Also if I put in an ongoing request and it is for a 1 bedroom will it confirm me for a 2 bedroom if it becomes available? I don't want to limit myself by asking for only a 2 bedroom but I think I have enough TPU for most 2 bedrooms. My hope is to get a disney unit.

An exchange worth 50 points traded for 30 TPUs will leave you a balance of 20 TPUs to use on additional exchanges. You do not lose them until they expire and then you have the option to combine other TPUs to extend the life of those TPUs out two more years.

If you are looking for a Disney week, then you can do an ongoing search specifically for the Disney resorts that you would like to stay at. You just need to search the resorts and add the resort numbers to your ongoing search which will also need to specify if you will only accept a two bedroom unit or not.

The system will only match your criteria to available weeks.
