I am looking into selling/transferring/giving away my HGVC membership. When looking at fees associated with moving this product I am seeing a transfer fee from hilton(500ish), an activation fee(600is) for new owner to use and closing costs(up to closing agency). Is this pretty inclusive of costs associated with transferring membership? Am I missing any costs?

HGVC has a resale department and has a minimum listing amount of 500 dollars. Has anyone ever had any luck with allowing HGVC to resell their membership?

My plan is to just give away the membership at no cost to the buyer (prepared to pay for this up to a point) but the costs just keep adding up and am hoping for some guidance from you guys.

Some info on the membership:
HGVC Seaworld
1BR
Silver season, odd years
2400 points
Membership/property is paid for (no loan/mortgage)
All MF and dues paid

I think you have it except for the estopple fee (around $65), but that may be included in the closing costs. The last I knew, the fees from HGVC were as follows:

Transfer Fee - $409
Enrollment Fee - $609
Estopple Fee - $65

Last I heard, LT Transfers was costing somewhere between $250 - $300.

You seem to be right in the ball park with your costs.

Good Luck!

Any idea where I can go to buy resale points to add on to my HGVC ownership?

We bought 5,000 points direct and want to add on with a resale now that we know we love the program and would like to have a bigger room to take others with us.

What HGVC resale sites are credible? We don’t want to be scammed.

Try our marketplace here on TUG. Some very good deals here for a HGVC deeds. If you want a more traditional route or a more specialized place, you could always use a broker. Judi Kozlowski, Diane Nadeau or Seth Nock can help you find what you want, but they generally will list the deeds for more.

I would suggest only buying platinum deeds from places that have low MF’s. Head on over to the HGVC forum and interact with the members there. Very helpful.
