I find myself in the most unusual of situations. For years I had always been borrowing from the previous year, well somewhere between 2007 and 2008 that reversed.

I now find myself rescuing over 10K of my annual 14K 2008 points into 2009. I am going to deposit my remaining 12K from 2009 into 2010. I booked an RCI unit that after I had already rescued my 2008 points, so I could not use my 2008 point but had to use my 2009 points. Bad timing, I know.

I have one reservation booked for 2009 leaving me 2.5K, but now I have 26K sitting in 2010. Boy I hope the economy and my work pick up, so I can afford a big 2010 vacation. I already have a Wyndham booked for Hawaii, perhaps I will need to make it a month long trip in 2010 and visit all the Hawaii resorts as well, since now there are 6 to choose from.

Has anyone used there HGVC for partner transactions they thought was a good value? Most look overpriced to me, am I missing something? Other than the Hilton VIP rewards using HHonors I don't see a lot of value. I already have nearly 238K Hhonors points anyway because of all my hotel stays. So I really don't need more honors points.

Any other good plans someone could suggest?

Book a good week and rent it out

I had lots of points I could not use and booked some good weeks and advertised them online. I think you can get anywhere from $.20 to $.40 for each point. For example, I was able to use about 10,000 points to rent some studios and 1 bedrooms and come out with about $4000. Now, it takes some work, time and a little frustration, but I succeeded. You can list it here on TUG or also at Redweek.com, MyResortNetwork.com, etc... If you don't want to that, then you'll want to make some great vacation plans... maybe a cruise and more.

HHonors is always a good dumping ground, esp if you use the HH points for european hotels on their VIP global plan.

you're only supposed to rent your home resorts..

Since the poster shows no TS ownership, I was wondering where the ownership was based that was rented.

Was also trying to figure out what else people used their points on that they thought was of value.

I have some family who likely might use the points. But I was just wondering what other TUGgers use.
