To Enter Puerto Rico, Passengers Must Show Covid-19 Test Results or Quarantine for 14 Days Under New Rules Announced by Governor

Staff Consortium / Travel / The Virgin Islands Consortium / https://viconsortium.com / June 30, 2020

“SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico’s governor on Tuesday announced strict new rules for all passengers flying into Puerto Rico in a bid to curb coronavirus cases as officials blame recent outbreaks on those who flew to the U.S. territory and were infected.

Starting July 15, all passengers have to wear a mask and must take a molecular test 72 hours prior to their arrival and submit the results to officials at the airport. Those who refuse to do so, or tested positive, or do not have the test results available, will be forced into a two-week quarantine. During that time, they have to undergo a molecular test and share the results if they want to be released from quarantine, said Puerto Rico Health Secretary Lorenzo González....”

Puerto Rico Reopens for Tourism, Then Begins Rollback

By Caribbean Journal staff / Caribbean Journal /www.caribbeanjournal.com / July 16, 2020

“Puerto Rico officially reopened for tourism on Wednesday, with a host of health and safety protocols for incoming travelers, and on Thursday promptly began a rollback of much of its service industry.

On Thursday, Puerto Rico Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced announced that the island’s bars, casinos and theaters would be closed, reduced restaurant capacity to a max of 50 percent and announced that sunbathing on beaches would be banned, too.

The move came just a day after the island had officially reopened its tourism sector.

Still planning a trip? Here’s how to do it....”

Stayed here years ago when it was under the Hilton Cerramar (sp) and Dorado beach. We had a great time and especially enjoyed El Yunque and Ponte for visits.
