What’s the easiest way to transfer weeks titles in florida, California and Aruba. Do I need attorneys in all of those locations? We realized we purchased our points all in our trust but some of our weeks were purchased before our trust was created. How expensive and difficult will this be? 😭 our attorney said he’s not licensed in those locations and frankly told us not to put the timeshare in the trust but he doesn’t believe in timeshare or understand it apparently

I've investigated this for our situation and it's a chunk for us though it doesn't sound like you have that many weeks. I'm pretty sure you'll also need to record a reference to the trust (forget what they all it) in each state the trust was nor formed in as well and LT Transfers will not do that I don't believe. Your estate lawyer should be able to provide you with the paperwork and instructions to do so and to confirm the wording for your new deeds/certifiates as well.

Awesome thanks! Thankfully it’s just 3 weeks. When we did bundles from the developer they were bought in the trust with all of our points as well so Atleast that’s good!

I need to do this too. I contacted LT Transfers a few years ago about it, just never followed through. The prices have probably changed, but I'd estimate around $300/week, assuming an increase. Each state could have a different price. As an example, one of my home resorts charges $60 more than the others for recording fees. 2 years ago, pricing averaged $270/week from LT.

I have a number of SC weeks. I have a lawyer in SC I've use before that was willing to bundle them and it would be about the same as LT transfers plus he'd to the required trust recording as well. But that was for a large number of weeks.

For those that have done this, how cooperative is MVC in such a process? Have been thinking about dumping our weeks into a trust for some time, but always concerned that since they weren't bought that way, MVC would make it a pain to move them over (and keep all our status benefits).

What is the benefit of putting a TS in a trust?
For me the main benefit would be avoiding probate in multiple states while effectively completing the transfer of enrolled weeks with a process I understand far better than heirs would. That said, I haven't done so thus far and likely won't. There is another way to accomplish the same thing by changing the title on the deeds.
