Not thinking and in hind site would have done different. I didn't put my wife's name on the 2 deeds we bought resale just to make it easier while doing the paperwork. I didn't realize this would not allow her to check in etc without me there too. I asked Wyndham if I can add her name or anyway around this and they said I would have to retitle the deeds.

Ok so what happens if I buy resale again, with the prices soooooooo low it is very tempting, but this time add her name to the deed how will it be set up? Will they add the pts to my current membership or have to set up a different membership? I'm thinking if they add the contract to my current membership that might be an easy way around the check in thing. But if they require a new membership then I have to manage two accounts and with the new pt transfer policy this would not be a good thing!?

We live about 40 mins from a resort we use the pts at and often my wife will head up with the kids and I will join them anywhere from a few hours to days later. I did call the front desk once and explained the situation and they allowed it, actually the front desk people at Glacial Canyon have been very nice the 2 visits we had there BTW. Also they have not pushed any sales meetings or updates or whatever they call it on me. I just said no I'm on vacation and they said ok we understand......I know another topic but I have heard horror stories of people being bothered. Actually the phone rang and I laughed to my wife and said this is going to be that big sales call, well it was just the front desk asking if everything was ok...no mention of sales or anything.

They seem to dislike multiple accounts. We purchased an initial batch of points and titled the deed jointly. Then we purchased a second deed and titled it in my name only, for no good reason. Fairfield merged the new points into our original account with both our names remaining on the account. Also, I have seen some discussion on the forum of titling things differently in order to have two accounts one with II and one with RCI. (This was before the points transfer ban was announced). Apparently folks have been successful with this but they have had to work very hard to get Wyndham to set up separate accounts. So it seems you will not have a problem getting both into one account.

It is not that difficult or expensive to execute and record a quit claim deed conveying the property to you and your wife. You may want to consider doing that if it is impotant to you having the title in both names.
