Titanic: How Do You Convert a Movie to 3D, Anyway? - by David Cardinal/ ExtremeTech.com

Titanic the Movie had something the ship itself never managed--a second run. What's more interesting is that it was in 3D. Titanic wasn't shot in 3D, after all. So how exactly do you add 3D effects to film that was shot in 2D? This question came up in a news meeting this week and I was excited that ExtremeTech's David Cardinal took up the challenge of answering it. Worth a read, even if you skipped the movie.

They've learned more since they've shot the movie and some of the theory's are now wrong.

Watch the James Cameron special on NGC last night.

One thing that did stick out was that James Cameron says he loves hearing opinions that differ from his own...but he is quick to discount them as well.

We just saw the play at the local theater and it was excellent. Not at all like the movie and it had a lot more facts about what happened.

Who needs facts when it comes to the Titanic? (or timeshares...)
