We're trying to visit one or more western National Parks each summer and like to stay in timeshares while we do. So far we've stayed in:

Worldmark St. George to visit Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon North Rim;
Worldmark West Yellowstone to visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton;
Worldmark Estes Park to visit Rocky Mountain National Park;
(2009) Wyndham Durango to visit Mesa Verde and maybe Aztec Ruins NM.

Where do you suggest we go in 2010?
Driving distance from northwest Colorado would be best, but I'd like to hear other suggestions as well.

If you haven't already done it, I would go to Sedona. You can visit the Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest NP while you're there. (We did that in September and had a wonderful time!)

Since your preference is WorldMark why not try WorldMark Yosemite Bass Lake.

We've been to the Grand Canyon, but not the Petrified Forest. Thanks for the suggestions.

Actually, our preference isn't for Worldmark, but since we own some credits with them, it's easier to book Worldmark than to try to get exchanges. I've put Yosemite on my short list. Thanks for the suggestion.

Still haven't made a decision. Any other ideas, anyone?

Yellowstone is such a large park that West Yellowstone may not be a good place to stay if you're visiting the park. From what I remember, it's over an hour's drive from West Yellowstone to Old Faithful and most other places you'd visit in the park and 2-3 hrs to the Tetons. Much better to stay in the park since it's so big.

Walnut Canyon is very impressive, too. There are so many things to do in that area. Monument Valley can be done in one day from Sedona or Flagstaff.
