I completed my owner update Yesterday and wanted to publish the results quickly. Good news is that there were no changes in the description of Abound. Today was a more traditional sales presentation where they offered an upgrade and their reasoning. So much information is now on the websites for Marriott (FAQ Link Below) and the Terms and Conditions for Vistana (Link Below). Both Vistana and Marriott have October 2022 as their go live dates.

I took advantage of the offer for Destination points. I was offered 500 Bonus points which is almost half the points needed for the Kauai Beach Club Parlor for a week. That is one of my favorite places to visit. I had a great salesperson who also was a timeshare owner. Salespeople who are owners understand both sides of the equation of what is good for owner.

I have only ever talked to one timeshare sales person. That was at the DVC side of the Grand Californian. Got a call about free swag to pick up so went and talked briefly with the salesperson. Super nice and as other have said super low key just like most DVC sales I understand. He too said he was an owner. We got to talking and told him I had just bought into WorldMark. Turns out he is a former WM sales person and also an owner. Pretty sure that was the "membership" he was referring to at the start of our conversation, not DVC. Anyway he also offered to answer questions about WM if I ever had them which I thought was nice.

PS - I refuse to call the DVC sales people Guides. The only thing they will guide you to is overpaying for a timeshare you can buy resale for cheaper.

I typically have good sales presentations. I think the sales people know fairly quickly that I understand timeshares. They know they can't force something.
