One of the downsides of choosing timeshares over an RV was the flexibility to travel across the US and have plenty of places to stay. Well, I am in the process of doing my trip across the US staying in Timeshares. Although not nearly as many locations as an RV, I do finally have the option. This removes one of my drawbacks of timeshares as timeshare companies expand their offerings

This seems to be a result of the timeshare industry consolidations. The Mergers of the timeshare companies is creating more capabilities in the remaining companies. In this video, I only stayed in Club Wyndham or WorldMark locations. I did not sue RCI or Vacasa to increase my options. I hope you enjoy this video.

I did a similar trip from Fort Myers Fl to San Francisco Ca

stops at Orlando, Destin, New Orleans, San Antonio, Phoenix San Diego, San Francisco
The San Antonio to Phoenix leg was a bitch nearly 1000 miles miles. about 15 hours

Coming back I traveled pretty much the same route (I-10) but did a side trip to Tenn to confront an ebay timeshare seller that took my money but didnt deliver the deed. and I spent a couple of nights in motels

We did this part just last year! (With a nice 4 day rest break at the newish Wyndham Austin
to break up what was your 1,000 mile drive.)

One of the scariest things we saw was this road sign near where I-10 enters Texas from Louisiana:

Texas is *really* wide!

No Kidding
I remember when my brother and I back in 1967 drove from SF to Gainsville, FL and we stopped overnite somewhere in TX off I10. I remember asking my brother who was driving, the next day if we were going in the right direction as everything looked the same as the day before. Thought we would never get out of Texas. LOL

So exciting! We hope to do something like this once my DH retires in just a few years. When did or will this trip take place? How far in advance did you need to reserve???
