Time to Sell Advice Needed

Having recently relocated from Northern California to Southern California, we find it difficult to use our Hyatt High Sierra ownership as there are no Hyatt timeshares in Southern California. So, after 15 years of happy ownership, we have concluded it's time to move on from Hyatt. We have enjoyed High Sierra Lodge, Highlands Inn, and other Hyatt properties over the years.

We own a gold week (1880 points) and an looking for selling advice. Should I list it with Bill Gabrielli or Paradise Timeshare Resale in South Lake Tahoe or some other brokerage?

Thinking you would be more successful listing it here in TUG Marketplace and REDWEEK. Those appear to be only legit ways to even begin to sell. Just dont let anyone blow smoke up your nose about what its worth. Look at what has SOLD, not what is listed to grasp the reality of what you own.

You mentioned that you’ve stayed at Highlands Inn before. Curious if you stayed at Pinon Pointe in Sedona? You could still easily drive to both of those locations if they interest you. We moved to Las Vegas from the Bay Area and have really enjoyed Sedona. We plan to stay at Highlands Inn this June too. A longer drive for us to Carmel, but we enjoy the area.

Just a thought before you sell it. If you are comfortable handling it yourself list it on TUG Marketplace and redweek. If you want to use a broker I would recommend Bill. We bought our Hyatt units through him and he is very good.

You said "no Hyatt timeshares in Southern California". Perhaps you overlooked Welk (now badged as Hyatt) in Cathedral City (Palm Springs) and Escondido (suburb of San Diego). I live in the San Diego area and annually drive to Sedona Hyatt (great resort/location), bi-annually drive to Tahoe (sometimes Hyatt Northstar but I prefer Timberlodge) and love to go to Carmel - - all driving vacations.

Also, consider that Hyatt probably trades pretty well. There are a bunch of nice timeshares close to southern Ca. including a bunch of Marriotts (Palm Desert, Newport Coast) that seem to be pretty easy to trade into (at least during the shoulder season). I own a bunch of Marriott Palm Desert lockoffs and always split them, and exchange them into larger units - - often times back into Palm Desert. So, maybe consider getting into the exchange mode?? Just a thought.

We did two purchases through Jean Thoms at Paradise Timeshare Resale. She was very professional and actually lives in Incline Village. Unless you’re going to do it yourself on Redweek or TUG, I would highly recommend Jean. I also think that she is the authorized reseller for the Hyatt High Sierra.
