Time Check: My puppy Cody is now 11 years old!

Long-time Tuggers will remember waaay back, to my post about the new puppy we adopted, a longhaired dappled Mini Dachshund we named Cody McPaddlefeet. He was eight weeks old when he joined our family back in 2013. Seems like only yesterday that he came to live with us.

And just like that, the Code Man is 11 years old today. He's taken well to living in the desert, and like so many retired stars, he enjoys his days laying by the pool...

He is a great member of the family, and our lives have been enriched with him in it. He's very healthy, and doing just fine.

It sure does! And you'll be pleased to know Cody has a trim waistline, no back issues, and is fed a strict, controlled diet (with no people food.) He's just a shade under 15 pounds, but is well-proportioned to his size. (His tank of a brother is much thicker-boned, and is landing in at 19+, but has similar proportions.) Both kids are doing fine. Thanks for your great advice, way back when.

They are all good. We are currently on a rare trip without them and miss them tons.

We’ll be heading out into the field again in October. They will be very happy to be hunting rabbits again!

Snickers just turned 3. She's my shadow, and the resident thief. She's forgiven me for 3 weeks at the boarding kennel but won't let me out of her sight.
