First time exchanging to this location and would like to bring golf clubs. Anyone have recommendations of nearby courses? Does Timber Lodge property have any golf deals?

The conceirge would be of great help in finding a golf course in Tahoe. I know there is one about a mile down the street that has the televised celebrity tour event every year. Looks like a great course but could be expensive to play. If you're a golfer, the Tahoe area would be a great place to golf.

On our recent trip at the end of this past August, we enjoyed the courses below. All very different in character and play-ability.

Genoa Lakes - Resort Course. On the eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas, an easy scenic drive. Links style, wide open, but long depending on the tees. Johnny Miller design....a good test, good value.

Incline Village - Championship Course. North end of the lake, a little over 1/2 hour away. What I would envision a typical Tahoe course should be; meanders through enormous pine trees, variable elevation changes, undulating greens....another good test, somewhat pricey @ $179.

Lake Tahoe Golf Course - just minutes from Timber Lodge. Mostly open course but some holes tighten up with trees and a little water. Course is really flat, virtually no elevation changes. Overall a decent layout and test. $84 per round....I think it should be cheaper for what you get, but you are just minutes away.

Edgewood GC gets all the fanfare and it is just blocks away from Timber Lodge. Did not play it, but the course looks beautiful and the clubhouse is magnificent; great restaurant also. Priciest in the region at $200 - $220 per round.

Agree about Genoa!

Played Edgewood a few years ago, but as a 20 handicap it just ate me up :bawl: Plus, after paying for my son too, it ate up my wallet :hysterical: We were in Tahoe a couple of weeks ago and I went over just to take pictures...it is a beautiful course. And the DW and the other ladies in our group went there for lunch one day and loved it.

Here is a little slideshow of some shots from Edgewood (including the dinner menu :) ;

For the past couple of years my son and I have 'hopped' over Kingsbury grade to the Carson Valley course. Not bad, and the price is right!

Have a great time...and hit 'em straight.
