Third Home policy for Covid as of 3/13/2020 is copied below from an email I received today. Bottom line up front is that they are providing a credit for a future exchange of the amount you paid for an exchange fee for one that was cancelled and reversing the transaction in keys (their deposit credits). I did get this same treatment for an exchange with them for a place in the Outer Banks that we were evacuated from due to a hurricane last year; it's a bit expensive exchanging with them due to their selectivity in resorts or vacation homes, but their customer service is good.

Members,

Your health, safety, and satisfaction are of utmost importance, and for that reason, I am sharing with you updates to our cancellation policy effective immediately. Should you desire to cancel any trips already reserved between March 1st and August 15th 2020, we will offer monetary credit to the Guest to use for future travel, as well as returning the Keys from the Host back to the Guest. Keep in mind you can always work directly with your host/guest to reschedule if possible. However, if you wish to cancel, please reach out to our team and let us know. We will work with you on the logistics. Please do what is right for you, and regardless of your decision, we are here to assist.

Additionally, we will be adjusting Keys that are set to expire between March 1st and April 30th with a new expiration date of August 15th in order to give you all the opportunities to travel with us in the future.

We apologize for any stress concerning your upcoming trips through THIRDHOME. Our number one goal is to provide memorable vacation experiences and time with family to unwind or reconnect. No one could have predicted that the virus would unfold in the way it has. We ask for your patience and understanding as our team works to handle each member with the attention and concern needed.

An option that you might consider is a drivable trip that eliminates the need to encounter crowded airports. Private homes are available throughout the US and the world, wherever you may be located. Please keep that in mind as you rethink how and where you will spend your vacation time.

The travel industry and the world are navigating in uncharted waters. We will continue to monitor and assist as needed. We know that soon we will return to doing what we do best and want you to know we will be here waiting to help you find amazing vacation stays around the world.
