1) Is there a vacation destination you wish to visit most of the time or on a regular basis? if so where?

We like to visit the Wilderness at the Smokies where wyndham has rooms. We would stay here most of the time and also something in Myrtle Beach, SC.

2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time?
Half and Half.

3) What are your 5 top trade destinations?
Florida (disney), Hilton Head, Vegas, Glacier National Park, Hawaii, Charleston, SC

4) How many people do you usually travel with - total, including yourself?

6

5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule?

Locked into the school schedule

6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance?

Yes

7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time?

Yes most of the time

8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars?

3-5

9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing?

As little as possible. Without financing less than 1K.

10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year?

1K to 2K

11) Are you a detail oriented planner?

Yes

12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do?

Yes

I have been looking into buying Wyndham points since we will be frequenting the wilderness at the Smokies but can not seem to see the benefit of having the time share points. Calculating how many points it would take to stay for a week at the wilderness during the prime season the maintenance fees and everything dont seem to add up to save us any money. Am I missing some kind of discounts or reward points etc. that can be combined with timeshare points?

When you stay there do you get the two-bedroom units or the hotel section of the property?

I love Sheraton Broadway Plantation, which you can get for free on ebay. Get a unit that locks off into two units and exchange with II, when you don't want to use the unit you own. Fees are about $1250, if I remember correctly.

But if you love Wyndham resorts, a few hundred thousand Wyndham points per year would be ideal for a purchase. You can get the resort you love that way. Get low MF's per point.

I've talked to several people on the Wyndham forum. One reason we were leaning that way was because we frequently visit pigeon forge and like to stay at the great smokies lodge with the water park. I like the Sheraton Plantation from what I have seen on their website. Going to rent some places for a while and try to visit some different places at the beach to see what we like the best then make a decision whether we want to buy or not. Don't want to rush into anything.

Hey, if you want Wyndham, they have a 2.2 million point on for a buck.

But, I think the monthly MF is 1200 bux. I know this many points will allow you to go all you want.
