I'm in the final stage of deedbacks for 2 WKV ownerships.

Vistana estimated my 2025 MFs when I started this process and I paid their estimated amount.

I've now been sent the documents from the title company which need signing. They indicate a owe a bit more on each ownership from a MF standpoint.

The title company gave me this phone to call to settle the MF issue: 407 903 4869. When I call I get a recorded message saying they are open 7 days a week "9 AM - 12 AM" . HUH? Do they mean 12 noon? No matter, every time I call I get a recorded message and the call then ends. I think this is a phone number associated w/Vistana but it's hard to tell.

So today I call 800 847 8262 which is the Vistana Owner Services department. Before I got a live person on the phone I had to listen to a recorded message about Covid and property updates. Really? Are we still doing this? When I do get someone on the phone he cannot help me.

Any ideas or suggestions on who I can call to pay the balance of my MFs? (I cannot do it online -- they lock you out of the system when you do a deedback). It's a nominal amount but I don't want my closing delayed b/c of this.

Could you contact the same people you contacted to initiate the deed back?

Cornell,

Good luck with your deedbacks. Just note that even here in the Chicago area, 12 AM is midnight. 12 PM is noon.
Yes. 12 PM is noon. Tried calling multiple mornings & just get a recorded message followed by a disconnected call.

One of my pet peeves is people who don’t know the difference between 12 am (midnight) and 12 pm (noon.). It’s such a basic thing and if people are getting through 12 years of compulsory education without learning something so basic, it’s pretty sad. I see that mistake made all the time.

This is kind of my point.

I could be wrong but I don’t think the Vistana payment office is open until midnight.

Please forgive those of us on parts of the plant that use the 24hr clock to solve the problem and don't need to know the difference most of the time. I have to find ways to avoid the potential misunderstanding when it arises, which is mostly successful. As you have written, 12 midnight and 12 noon seem to work well enough.
I'm almost fluent in American English too. I do still giggle when I hear the word "pants" used in the US. "Two nations divided by a common language" was a phrase often used in trans-Atlantic business meetings.

I wasn’t intending to imply that you didn’t know which was which, it was obvious from your post that you do, and you were commenting on the probable error in the email you received. Yes, I think it’s unlikely that that Vistana's office is open until midnight.

Good luck @Cornell ! The underlying theme here is laziness or incompetence of people and companies managing their phone system. I recently called an insurance company. The person answering the phone gave me the full name and number of a person I needed to talk to. So far so good. I called that the number and got a voice message that identified herself with a different last name (same first name) and stated she was out of the office until July 8th! I assume she got married but how do you not update your voice message for months?

Good morning, Cornell, can you call the title company for a more direct number for a human person to talk to and not a robot?

Can you tell the Vistana Owner Service person you want to make a payment for 2025 and then explain why you need to make a payment?

Good luck.
