There's good HHV open season availability!!

FYI - I was just checking what was available at the various resorts during open season and there is 6 - 8 night availability in early January at the Lagoon, Kalia and Grand Waikkian. I wish that I could take advantage of a one bedroom for 7 nights at a cost of $672! Hopefully one of you can go on short notice.

Only owners can use Open Season for cash.

WOW is right, as christmas and new years weeks are actually event weeks in Hawaii. Those weeks are booked for owners, they have to release them if they don't want to use them.

And what's interesting is that these rates are used for both the original properties and the new ones.

So, for example, while a 2BR Premier in the Lagoon Tower at HHV is 9600 points for the week, and a 2BR Premier in the Grand Waikikian is 14,400 points for the week, the cost is the same for each when you purchase an open season week.

I thought I remember hearing there was a different price point for open season rentals for the Kings Land and Grand Waikikian properties. However I could not locate anything in the current guide, and I have yet to receive the new guide.

If it is true it will make Open season a better bargin at this up tiered point resorts.

That may be true in the future--I'm not sure. But right now when you make an open season reservation online, the GW prices are the same as the "lesser" units.
