They were very close even before this shutdown. No doubt Copa and United can take over some. Transiting in Colombia is a pain has you have to clear immigration where as in Panama you can be on your next plane in 30 minutes after landing.

The sad thing here is that Colombia supports the big airlines, but the small ones that are going through worse times, do not receive much help from the government.

I do not see much support for Avianca.
