Just finalized our Feb 2012 Maui trip and it couldn't have worked out better. With utlizing our one 2BDRM OF LO unit effectively we managed to get 12 days in Maui.

By splitting and renting the LO we received enough rental income to purchase 3 additional nights in a 1BDRM OV at MOC, one night in Hana and one night at the Hyatt next door.

We paid alot for our Maui units almost 10 years ago and many, many thought I was out of my mind, but it has been the very best investment I've ever made for my family and continues to pay big dividends to this day.

Nicely done Joe.
Were you able to use your owner's discount codes to get a good deal on the rooms?

AAA, not owners discount. $422 per night all in for a 1BDRM OV I thought was a good price.

I had 5 nights for free on a travel cert at the Wailea Maui Marriott but I want to surprise the kids and go right to Kaanapali. They will be very happy.

By selling the LO (I also just gave the 5 night cert to a "friend" which worked out nicely) I basically traded the 4 nights at the Wailea and the 7 nights in the 2BDRM OF (and one night at the Hyatt next door because we love the pool slide) which was the original plan, to 3 nights at the MOC in a 1BDRM OV, 1 night in Hana, 7 nights in a 1BDRM OV, and the night at the Hyatt and put a few scheckles in my pocket.

Its Marriott and its Maui that makes it easy to extract the high value.

Most people can turn 7 days in to 14 with a lock-off. You're missing a couple days :D
