Interesting that the article says the TSA considers Guacamole and other dips to be liquid, but I just recently read i could bring a bottle of water through security if i froze the bottle first....

I've used frozen bottles in my lunch bag for years when flying. The ice has to be frozen solid, but when I had a long drive before a recent flight, I just poured out the part that had thawed and it was still fine.

I always go ahead and pull the bottles out of the bag because they always inspect, and once or twice they had to confirm with a second person because the first TSA agent wasn't aware, but it is definitely allowed.

Frozen water...TSA site says something about "liquids ...in their natural state being restricted, (not frozen). My interpretation was if you purposely freeze a liquid, then it is still subject to the liquid limits. (3.5 oz?)

I take a YETI water bottle full of ice through TSA all the time. I add the ice just before I leave for the airport to ensure it doesn't have time to melt first. And then I fill the bottle with water from the drinking fountains after security.
