The UK train stations with the biggest pickpocketing problems

I would expect pickpocketing to be much easier today than it was 20+ years ago, since so many people are continually distracted by their cell phones and totally oblivious to what is going on around them.

Train travel in Europe is getting more dangerous than it used to be. Both the German and Italian railroad workers unions have raised the issue of growing crime on trains and in stations. In fact, the Italian uion had a strike over it after one of their conductors was punched, spit upon, and stabbed. The culprits according to both unions are a class of people one rarely saw on European trains 20+ years ago.

I have riden many miles on German and Italian trains in years past, as well as in most countries of Europe and never felt unsafe. Sadly, the situation seems to be changing.

It's a shame that this is happening all over. A conductor on the Cardinal was beat up by a passenger in West Virginia and had to be hospitalized. There are too many people who can't control themselves running around free. Even if they are arrested, they are soon out on the streets again.
