Recently, some large rats have been trying to nest in our cabin so I set large traps. Before the traps I used spray detergents, foam sealant, bug bombs and small mouse traps that just disappear. The large trap kind of worked in that it was stuck to rat while it was trying to get away so the dog got it. Usually, our rats aren't this big but these are woodland rats can get large. I think we have a few of these nesting so I might need a bigger trap.

I usually tie a wire between the trap and something stationary so that I don't lose the rat or don't have to track it down. The wires work better than string.

What exactly is that?

It's a wood rat. Sometimes called a woodland rat. It's kind of odd because it's a rat with a bushy tail. They are kind of messy and like shinny things.

I was just thinking about dinner and then looking at that

We watch Alone which is an outdoor survival skills show and those participants would eat this. They probably taste like chicken, lol.
