Can anyone that owns here tell me pro's and con's of owning at this resort. Since the weeks are floating how easy is it to get the week you want in advance?

Answer to the second question. ROCB's floating weeks work like most resorts -- the earlier you request a reservation, the more likely you'll get what you want. You can request a reservation starting a year before the check-in date.

Our St. Augustine Beach timeshare is different. It has floating time of either anything but summer (May> Sept) and Christmas, or summer and Christmas. We, as owners of anything but summer and Christmas weeks, must pay the maintenance fee and submit a request for the week for the following year by Aug.1st. each year. The maintenance fee is an estimate as the budget for the following year is not finalized until the fall, then we pay any difference the following January. The resort has a form we fill in with our 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... choices of dates and unit numbers. On August 1st all requests are put into a box and drawn out one by one and the requests filled. When a duplicate request is pulled out, that owners 2nd choice is then given, and so on, until all requests received have been filled. Anybody who doesn't have their cheque and request in by August 1st gets to pick from what is left. It doesn't matter if we send in our cheque and request in March or earlier, or in July, it will still go into the box and be drawn with all the others. The only time we have not been able to get our 1st or 2nd choice was when our kids were small and I wanted Easter Week to reduce the time they were away from school. We always got our week but not our choice of units.

I didn't know that but procedures like that are why I said, "most resorts."
