Let's have some non-Covid content. :) I can't think of anything else to post about, but I thought that this may bring a smile to our faces. Kaya is our middle-aged "lab" rescue - don't really know what her breed is, but I am pretty sure that it's not a labrador - and my daughter's rescue kitty, Freddie, named in honor of Freddie Mercury.

Ok, I finally got it posted above. Thanks for encouraging me! I was getting a security error. I finally signed out and signed back in and it worked.

Phoenix and Ash.

Phoenix is the bigger one, she’s three years old. Ash is her niece, about to turn one year old.

I do dachshund field trials and Hunt Tests with them. Phoenix was working on two titles- Field Champion and Hunting Hound- and she earned both this season.

We also do a dogsport called Nosework. They are just beginners, Ash more so than Phoenix. Today we did a session with their trainer. Phoenix did as she was supposed to, she used her nose to find the target odor, put her nose right on it, got her treat. Ash is so food motivated that she loses her mind sometimes. She started her search, got a whiff of odor, forgot everything else and just stopped, looking at me with eyes that said, “I SMELLED THE THING, GIVE ME CHICKEN NOW!” Sorry honey, that’s not how this works. Lol.

They are wirehaired miniature dachshunds.

These are my three babies. Rusty, Moon and Noelle. I also have an orange tabby cat named Sunny. She loves the dogs, as you can see in the photo below.
